We are SY Design
We strongly believe that the lines of a boat should remain contemporary over the years. For this purpose we strip our boats of all the trends of the moment and through cleanliness and simplicity we try to create objects with their own character, capable of conveying dynamism at all times.
The challenge we set ourselves each time is to combine functionality with aesthetics.
Whether it is a boat or a residence, the interior design project starts from knowing the client and his needs. Together with him, we start from a blank sheet of paper and guide him step by step through all the stages of the project, from drafting a layout to creating a moodboard of materials to choosing the various furnishings.
We feel that each project should express the client’s character and personality, so that we can create projects that are unique from one another.
Veronica Yien
Born in the hills of Bologna, she graduated with a thesis in yacht design at the end of her studies in the European Institute of Design in Milan.
Following her degree, she moved to Florence to join one of the most relevant nautical studios in the country. During those six years of experience she was able to guide the owner in all choices related to the decoration and interior design of his creations.
In 2022 she founded SY design, a company based in Bologna in which she deals with the interior design and decor of yachts and private residences.
Matteo Sassone
Born along the shores of Lake Como. He attended a major in product design in the European Institute of Design in Milan, graduating with a thesis in yacht design. In 2013, his bachelor degree was followed by a master’s degree in yacht design at the Politecnico di Milano.
After all his studies, he moved to Florence to join one of the most prestigious studios in the industry. In 2017 he was promoted as Chief Exterior Design where he contributed to various end-to-end projects for the most important Italian shipyards.
In 2022 he finally moved to Bologna where he founded SY design, a company in which he is in charge of all the exterior design and the layout of the interiors.
